400 Gradi East

Located in Ringwood’s epicurean mecca, Town Square at Eastland, 400 Gradi East is the brand new restaurant from Johnny Di Francesco’s Gradi Group. The venue delivers classic pizzas made in the traditional Neapolitan style and plenty more of the delicious food Gradi is known for.

As expected of any acclaimed Italian restaurant, 400 Gradi East is particularly good at producing quality pasta dishes. The mushroom pappardelle we had was no exception. The al dente ribbons of pasta were intertwined amongst lashings of earthy mushrooms. The flavours were complex and rich. Texturally, the tenderness of the mushrooms contrasted nicely with the perfectly cooked al dente pasta. 

A dining experience at 400 Gradi East is of course, incomplete without Johnny’s internationally awarded pizza. 

The Bella Emilia Pizza was picture perfect in appearance and outstanding in taste. A thin layer of fior di latte, 20 month prosciutto di Parma, sundried tomato and balsamic vinegar created a delightful fusion of flavours that would keep any pizza purist happy. Encircled with a puffy crisp crust, this pizza was superb.

The Capricciosa was flawless. This San Marzano tomato and fior di latte based pizza was embellished with stunning Prosciutto Cotto, artichokes, olives, and mushrooms – a classic combination.
 
A duo of traditional desserts concluded our evening on a sweet note. 
400 Gradi East's rendition of the pannacotta (served with Frangelico, praline and macadamia crumble) was texturally perfect - silky smooth. The tortino al cioccolato was similarly well made with a gooey, decadent molten middle- simply irresistible!

400 Gradi East combines friendly and affable staff, wonderful ambience and exceptional pizzas to deliver an enchanting experience - one that transports you to Italy.
