The brainchild of owner’s Fabio and Michele, 48h treats patrons with an authentic Italian culinary experience - Expect to be welcomed with fervour whilst you sample artisanal specialties from Italy that are enhanced with the finest quality local ingredients.

The name 48h derives from the best practice of producing real pizza by making sure the dough has been leavened for 48 hours. At 48h, 48 hours is the minimum time required for the dough to rise. A dough that has been leavened for 48 hours with natural yeast produces an exquisite pizza base which is light, fragrant and wonderfully aromatic.

At 48h, virtuous patience is rewarded with luscious pizzas, packed with garden fresh ingredients. The Bronte pizza was picture perfect and outstanding in flavour. Layers of buffalo mozzarella were teamed with a delightful fusion of fresh mint and pistachio pesto and perfectly cooked, deliciously fresh scampi. Encircled with a puffy crisp crust, this pizza was superb.

Being a gnocchi bar, the restaurant boasts the widest selection of gnocchi we have ever seen in Melbourne. A popular gnocchi dish, the Gamberi gnocchi (gnocchi made from potato, prawns, gluten free flour, spices) served with Capesante scallops, crab meat and broad beans captivated with its delightful seafood flavour.

For dessert, you cannot go past the 48h gelato which is made from organic imported Italian wine Valpolicella, Soave and Prosecco - absolutely delicious, just make sure you aren't driving home!
