Applehead Deli

Applehead Deli is a neighbourhood café and delicatessen crafting deliciously simple fare that pays homage to the classic New York deli whilst serving amazing coffee. The eatery has only been open for three months and already has a loyal band of followers, and it is easy to understand why.

Led by an A- team (partners in life and crime, Denis and Liz) who have combined their years of experience from some of Melbourne’s best cafes (including Axil Coffee Roasters, Mr Mister and Moby) to create a truly welcoming space. At the helm, head chef Alex, gained his cafe experience from Mr Mister on Chapel St whilst part time chef, Alena has been cooking in Melbourne for about twenty years. 

Embracing the joy of simple deliciousness, the menu features made to order sandwiches and a couple of breakfast staples.

Must-haves from the menu include the ever popular Pastrami Sandwich - think tender Brisket Pastrami, oozy cheddar, deli mustard, slaw and creamy mayo. The meatball sandwich is yet another winner. Expect a fluffy, cloud-soft white bun filled with meatballs, napolitana, mozzarella and basil. It really is a thing of beauty.
