Beloved Melbourne institution, Au79 has opened a new and captivating Au79 Café and Eatery, at Home Southbank - a first of its kind premium hotel inspired residential tower designed exclusively for renters.

The new Au79 serves up expert-made single-origin coffee , pastries and a delectable menu seven days a week.
We loved tasting our way through the menu. An absolute highlight was the Moreton bay bug linguine with mussels, cherry tomatoes, basil, parsley and fried capers cooked in a hearty prawn bisque. A twist on Melbourne's breakfast staple, the smashed avo, the dish of grilled Portobello and avocado on toast was another crowd pleaser. We loved the generous plate of perfectly chargrilled portobello mushrooms, smashed avocado, medley of tomatoes and herb salad sitting atop crusty bread. Simple but simply delicious. Whatever you do, make sure you try some of the amazing cakes from the display cabinets - you can thank us later.
The new Southbank cafe is open to all, though Home residents have access to exclusive services including breakfast-in-bed and catered private dining experiences.
