We visited during one of the restaurant’s special music events. A regular occurrence at Avra which draws in the crowds, George takes these opportunities to go back to his roots, serving rustic dishes he grew up with. Deceptively simple and absolutely perfect execution is the name of the game here.
We loved tasting our way through the menu. The whole Sea Bream in a salt crust was a true highlight. The fish was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. The ‘kantaifi’ shrimp served with luxurious white Tarama also deserves a mention. Think plump exceedingly fresh shrimp wrapped in 'string' pastry and fried to achieve a moreish crispy texture. Simply delightful!
