Hidden behind wooden doors, Campbell House is a converted townhouse housing an ultra-chic boutique hotel located in the heart of Georgetown.

More like an elegant home away from home than a hotel, Campbell House boasts sophistication and authentic style, with staff that understand the true meaning of luxury. From the moment you arrive, the experience is seamless. Your bags are whisked away and you are invited to sit and enjoy a welcome drink while the staff handle the check in process.

The staff have an almost psychic ability to know what you want and ensure you are provided with it before you have to ask. When it comes to feeling completely at ease, little touches, like the daily chilled jug of water and iced tea and little surprise sweet treat at the end of each day, go a long way.

The interior design is wonderful, uniting traditional architecture with modernist luxury. The beautifully styled furnishings make this "home" feel truly lived in.

Every room in the hotel carries a different theme. We were absolutely pleased to stay in the Colonial Room. Located on the top floor, the Colonial Room boasts a hand-made king size four poster bed which transports guests to the bygone Colonial days of Penang. High exposed ceilings and beams, a writer’s desk and an old winged armchair complete the look.

We loved that the rooms also include a Nespresso machine with pods alongside local Penang coffee to enjoy so guests do not miss out on their requisite caffeine kick. The Colonial Room is also located right next to the hotel's roof terrace where you can enjoy a relaxing cocktail and wind down from a day of exploration.
