Casa Howard, Florence - Stylish and affordable Guest House

Each Casa Howard Guest House is a beautiful house (whether an apartment, palazzo or farmhouse) which provides personal service while using some typically ‘hotel’-style ideas, methods and services. 

Staying in Casa Howard is like visiting a slightly eccentric friend at his beautiful Florence guesthouse - stylish and comfortable, but without the traditional hotel amenities like a 24 hour concierge. 

Casa Howard is extremely well located on Via della Scala 18 - just a short walk from the beautiful Santa Maria Novella basilica, the Santa Maria Novella railway station, the Uffizi, the Duomo and Via Tornabuoni, 

The guest house opened in 2005 after 2 years of intensive refurbishment but retains its original flooring and ceilings. The result is an incredibly charming place in which to stay during your visit. Owner, Massimiliano Leonardi's sense of style and taste permeates throughout - expect an intimate and elegant mansion and uniquely decorated, plush rooms.

The guest house also provides a special gastronome guide for guests which has been running since 2003. Certainly a great opportunity to explore like a local.

Twin Room

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in one of Casa Howard's Twin Rooms. An elegant and cosy room, decorated with pearl grey wood panelling, an original antique wood beam ceiling and heavy dark red velvet curtains. 

We loved that the accommodation was quiet and overlooks the residence's stunning patio. The room was equipped with an en-suite bathroom and shower and a small terrace allowing you to have breakfast, overlooking the patio and Santa Maria Novella Basilica's rooftop. 

If you choose to have breakfast at the guest house, it is served in your bedroom. Think continental breakfast comprising of slices of crunchy just-baked baguette, yoghurt, jam and served with  English tea, Italian coffee and fruit juice.
