CIRCA 1936 presents a world of luxury for guests with outstanding personable service. The sense of true hospitality was palpable from the moment we arrived.

Located on Corowa's main street, CIRCA 1936 is housed within the former Rural Bank of NSW. Vivid art deco glamour permeates throughout and features timeless, elegant and simply stunning items sourced locally or from Indonesia, China and as far away as Europe and Africa to match the architectural features of the heritage building. The hotel also features one of a kind art works commissioned specially for each space, many of which were designed by the owners and extensive use of petrified wood - and it all comes together in quite a breathtaking manner. The result is an atmosphere which is relaxed and refined.

CIRCA 1936 is the realisation of owners Kevin and Ririn Yaxley's dream of providing regional centres with truly world class hospitality. The pair saw the potential in Corowa and its surrounding regions and the rest is history. Combining 50 years of hotel experience, CIRCA 1936 combines the concept of a B&B, a day spa, a retail outlet and a cafe into a small luxury hotel. Looking at the stunning property it is today, it is difficult to imagine the derelict bank building that once stood just a few years earlier.

Whilst definitely at the very premium end of the spectrum, the accomodation rates include $270 worth of Day Spa treatments per day, breakfast, morning and afternoon tea, pre-dinner canapés with full selection of evening beverages, night caps delivered to your room, laundry, butler service and complimentary mini bar (including alcohol) amongst numerous other luxuries.

These inclusions mean that you can truly be pampered during your stay and have all the R&R you need, you might not even want to leave!

The West Suite

We absolutely loved staying in CIRCA 1936's wonderfully luxurious West Suite. Our room was spacious and boasted a super king size bed, sumptuous and enormous bathroom with an oversized bathtub and French doors leading onto the spacious private balcony.

We loved returning to our suite each night to a selection from the night cap menu. During our stay, each staff member delivered impeccable service and attention to detail. The professionalism and experience of the staff, combined with the luxuriously appointed suite, made our stay at CIRCA 1936 a memorable one.

The Spa

CIRCA 1936 boasts a tranquil day spa which provides guests with a great selection of treatments and Nouveau products.

The products are created using production methods that are true to the values of ethical production, using only natural ingredients and they are all totally paraben free. During our stay we indulged in CIRCA's signature massage treatment which left us feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Owners Kevin and Ririn's common passion for true hospitality, enjoyment and travel has resulted in a hotel that is elegant, luxurious and indulgent. The pair are consummate hosts and are able to provide deep local knowledge so that you can make the most of your experience.
