Comfort Food at Stamford Plaza
/With the leaves falling, Stamford Plaza's Autumn specials are calling. Executive Chef Ketan Seth is taking diners on a journey of mouth-watering comfort food dishes throughout May and June at Harry's Restaurant.
Designed by Chef Ketan the menu is a tempting mix of heart warming food that is good for the soul and tantalising for the taste buds. Chef Ketan's understanding of spices and flavour shines through with the dishes - a nod to his experience with some of the world’s most renowned hotels including The Langham Melbourne, Crown Melbourne and Dubai’s Raffles hotels and The Atlantis.
There are 4 dishes to choose from priced between $14 - $29 each:
- Pumpkin & Ginger Soup $14
- Pan fried duck breast $19
- Slow cooked Marsala braised pork with chilli & prunes $24
- Persian lamb tagine, fluffy cous cous $30
We loved starting with the luxurious pumpkin soup which had the perfect burst of warm ginger. The addition of goats cheese was a masterstroke which added a velvety texture and creaminess to the soup.
A stand out dish from the Comfort Food specials was the Pan fried duck breast. The slices of duck breast were cooked to a rarely found perfection allowing the rich flavour of the duck to shine through. The accompanying caramelised pear added a desirable level of sweetness while the flavour-laden creamed cabbage and chestnuts provided the crowning element to the luxurious dish.
For something heavier and heartier, the Slow cooked Marsala braised pork and Persian lamb tagine are wonderful. Both boasts exceedingly tender meat that just falls apart with the weight of your spoon. Yum!
