Lunch with De Bortoli and Matt Moran at the GFWS

2018 marks 90 years and four generations of family winemaking for De Bortoli Wines. Gastrology celebrated this amazing achievement over the weekend at a three-course lunch designed exclusively by celebrity chef Matt Moran with award-winning artist Vincent Fantauzzo at the Melbourne Good Food and Wine Show.

To start we enjoyed a wonderfully light and fresh entrée of BBQ prawns with gremolata matched with De Bortoli The Estate Vineyard Pinot Blanc which was dry, courtesy of being made in the traditional French style.

A hearty dish of BBQ wagyu beef followed. We loved how beautifully this matched with De Bortoli’s Heathcote Woodfired Shiraz which was a deep and intense wine boasting dark fruits and spices.

Our lunch concluded on a lovely sweet note with ricotta doughnuts matched with De Bortoli’s iconic Noble One Botrytis Semillon. Simply stunning.
