Dr. Morse

Abbotsford darling, Dr Morse is an all-day eatery boasting a spacious beer garden at the back. A new menu has just been launched with everything cooked on their new courtyard BBQ.

Under the guidance of Head Chef Ash Monks, the kitchen is in safe hands – think flavour-laden Pan Asian offerings made with locally sourced produce designed to entice and delight.

In line with the venue’s social setting the menu is designed to share. To start we loved the prawn betel leaf with coconut sambal and peanuts. The betel leaf was a multitude of intense flavours and was highlighted on by the plump and fresh prawn and the gently sweet and pronounced savouriness of the coconut sambal.

The Goolwa pipis were similarly delicious and swimming in a light miso butter broth and topped with crunchy milk bun croutons.

For mains the Bannockburn chicken with chilli and shallot jus had us fighting over the last morsel. Cooked to perfection, the chicken was silky and incredibly tender.

For something heartier the XO lamb shoulder with burnt shallot and mustard greens certainly gratified.

Our dinner concluded on a sweet note with a refreshing dessert of compressed watermelon with whipped yoghurt and mint granita – Simple but simply beautiful.

With a focus on classic Asian dishes throughout the Asian region but adding a few of twists along the way, Dr Morse’s new dinner menu is sure to draw in the crowds.
