Gai Wong in North Melbourne, serves up some of the most authentic Malaysian hawker food that you will find in Melbourne. We recently ordered in takeaway and were blown away.

The Hainanese chicken rice was the star of the show. Think silly tender slices of perfectly cooked chicken breast served with aromatic chicken rice. The char siew was similarly delicious and boasted beautiful flavours and went down well with the slippery highly addictive kon lo mee noodles.

Gai Wong’s dishes transported us to the streets of Kuala Lumpur! Authentic, utterly delicious and doesn’t hurt the hip pocket either. Highly recommended.
