George Jones Eatery

George Jones Eatery is a newly opened all-day café and restaurant in Pascoe Vale featuring a very smart and seasonal menu. 

Only a couple of months old, the eatery has already garnered a loyal band of followers who will wax lyrically about the place and it is easy to understand why. Offering a fun and relaxed approach to dining, George Jones caters to a broad range of tastes. The dining room is casual and contemporary with subdued off-white walls complimented by comfortable wooden furnishings. Touches of greenery provide a clever accent, as do the lamps that hang from the ceiling. Highlights include comfortable booth seating and a sophisticated front counter with sweet treats to tempt. 

The menu is produce-driven and defined by simple tried and true flavour combinations.

We loved the Thai sticky pork and papaya salad. It was a salad featuring a multitude of intense flavours and was highlighted by the sticky sweet tamarind dressing which contrasted beautifully against the gentle tartness of the green papaya and heat from the chilli. The pork belly pieces were masterfully cooked to showcase a crispy exterior encasing beautifully tender meat.  

For something more substantial the porterhouse steak was marvellous. The steak was perfectly seared on the outside and beautifully juicy and pink on the inside. It was evident that the meat sourced was of a good standard and there was great pride and care taken in its preparation.

Whatever you do, don't leave without trying the decadent banana parfait served with lashings of salted peanut caramel and chocolate ice cream. Just. Yum. You can thank us later.
