Grand Lafayette

Due to popular demand Grand Lafayette have recently relocated from their iconic beach side location in Port Melbourne and upsized to a larger, vibrant joint in the heart of Prahran, just off Chapel Street.

Offering all day dining, Grand Lafayette impresses with a brunch menu that brings flavours from around the world whilst their dinner menu boasts an endless selection of Japanese fusion dishes AND, it is all-you-can-eat for a mere $32.80.

We were excited to see what all the fuss was about and are glad to report that Grand Lafayette truly does live up to its hype.

We visited for their all-you-can-eat option over the weekend and loved the variety of options available. The all-you-can eat stands out from the crowd. Distinct from your regular buffet options, you order off the a la carte menu and each item is cooked to order which means it tastes freshly prepared (as opposed to having been sitting in a bain-marie for hours).

Our top picks from the menu include the beef baos which encase unctuous morsels of tender pulled beef, the Beef Tataki with perfectly rare, tender slices of beef, the refreshing Yuzu Kingfish and the slippery fried udon noodles with chicken. If you love your sashimi, we definitely recommend getting the Sashimi platter. It’s an extra $18.80 but it’s wonderfully generous and features a wonderful selection of delectably fresh fish.
