A name dubbed after the local cat, Leroy, known to frequent the block, Newport café Leroys delivers delicious food and a friendly vibe. After undergoing a recent refurbishment, Leroys delivers modern flavours, great coffee and strong beliefs that local produce and seasonality are the stepping stones to great cooking.

Passionate about creating a community hang-out everyone can enjoy, Leroys is a friendly café welcoming those of all ages, as well as beloved four-legged friends. With plantation shutters opening out to the neighbouring park, and an undercover area enclosed by handsome wooden slats, the café beams with natural light.

A popular spot for families, Leroys has a large backyard area (currently under construction) that is perfect for kids to play in while mum or dad enjoy a bite to eat.

We loved tasting our way through Leroys' which is driven by seasonal produce and prepared traditionally with a creative twist.

The Super Salad was absolutely stunning. Made from a trio organic quinoa, super seeds, goji berries, cannellini beans, kale, sugar snap peas, smashed peas, halloumi and mustard shallot vinaigrette, this sald was a beautiful amalgamation of flavours and textures. Definitely one that was a triumph for vegetarians and certainly would tempt any carnivore!

For the sweet tooths, do not got past the OMG Pancake.Think a thick fluffy 2 inch thick pancake served with creamy whipped ricotta coffee cream, salted coffee cacao, hazelnut crumb, popping candy, burnt fig ice cream and theatrically finished off with chocolate fairy floss. Simply delightful!

As expected of any good Melbourne café, the coffee is great thanks to Campos Coffee Roasters, who provide Leroys with premium quality beans roasted on site at Campos in Carlton.

With a strong belief in high quality, local produce, a skilful kitchen, friendly staff and great ambience, Leroys is a winner.
