In the heart of busy Hawthorn, Piccolina Gelateria has teamed up with South Yarra's LuxBite to create four decadent gelato cakes.
Using authentic gelato made in the Glenferrie Road store, Piccolina and LuxBite have created a signature cake called Ferrerolina Rocher.
This cake is a take on the Ferrero Rocher chocolate which is made of Hazelnut , "Better than Nutella" and Milk Chocolate gelato with hazelnut praline and puffed rice crunch. To top off the Ferrerolina Rocher, dark chocolate is doused on top with roasted hazelnut and a few gold leaves to add that extra glamorous touch!
One of our favourite tastings at the launch was the Cool Cool Meringue Monster which is inspired by LuxBite's most popular cake, the Meringue Monster. Filled with Watermelon & Strawberry sorbet, yoghurt gelato, and green tea & pistachio cake, the cake is then topped off with Italian meringue and light blow torched to create a lovely gelato cake. The freshness of the sorbet complemented the gelato and sweetness of the meringue which took the cake to a whole another level.
The gelato cakes are now available at Piccolina Gelataria and are priced from $65 to $85 and serves 12 to 16 people, which are perfect for the upcoming festive season.
