Mappen Ramen

Mappen Ramen has recently opened in the Melbourne CBD focusing on Japanese cuisine and specializing in ramen.  

Mappen has a canteen-like set up where you order at the counter, customize your meal with assorted toppings, collect your dish, and then return the tray once the meal has been completed . 

There are three broth options (tonkotsu, miso and shoyu) to choose from for your ramen, and also a selection of sides to add on such as seaweed salad, bamboo, egg, & corn. 

At Mappen, there are also other side dishes such as Japanese curry on rice, takoyaki, gyoza, fried chicken and katsu chicken. 

All the accompaniments were well executed and a great addition to the meal. 

At Mappen, they also have a wide selection of Japanese beverages such as Matcha Latte, Matcha Soda, Matcha Lemonade, 

Matcha Calpis, and Ryokucha (Green tea). For any Matcha lover, this range of choices is fantastic and the Matcha has a great flavour. 

With prices starting at $4.90, Mappen Ramen is a great option for a cheap, quick and filling casual lunch or dinner.
