Melbourne Bushfood
/Melbourne Bushfood is a business specialising in the supply of ethically and sustainably sourced native ingredients. Each ingredient is sourced from local small farmers, wild harvesters or indigenous ccommunities across Australia.
Melbourne Bushfood aims to make these ingredients accessible to everyone. Prior to COVID-19, Melbourne Bushfood was at the Queen Victoria Market educating visitors about the food that grows in our own backyard, and how it is a much more sustainable (and delicious) alternative to the imported species we choose to enjoy at home each every day. Did you know that there are well over 6,500 different bush foods in Australia but only one is available in supermarkets? (It’s the macadamia by the way). And that’s precisely what owner, Hayden Marks wants to change.
Melbourne Bushfood boasts a range of indigenous herbs, spices as well as tea blends and chocolates made from these special ingredients. The result is unique and tasty flavour combinations to help people taste the flavours of the Australian landscape.
