North and Eight

North and Eight is an exciting brunch spot in Essendon. The menu features an array of delectable delight to suit most - ranging from your classic smashed avo essentials to healthy salads and indulgent sweet treats.

The café exudes a wonderfully relaxed ambience with warm hues of timber mixed with splashes of green and bright walls. As expected of any great café, the coffee is great (Proud Mary) and poured by adept baristas. 

We loved tasting our way through the menu. 

The raw zucchini tagliatelle was sensational. Beautiful ribbons of zucchini were tossed with Australian olives, sundried tomatoes, chilli, capers, pine nuts and a range of herbs to produce a truly moreish meal. Zoodles never tasted this good. 

The Pumpkin hummus on toasted fennel seed sourdough was similarly delightful. We loved the creamy flavour laden hummus matched with creamy yoghurt and balanced with slightly tart beets and refreshing shaved fennel. 

For the sweet tooth, do not go past the picture perfect Maple Matcha Pancake. Incorporating some of life's greatest pleasures (such as ice cream), these pancakes were simply stunning. We loved the subtle matcha flavour which worked particularly well with the pistachio and orange blossom syrup.

Whether you're after something exciting or nutritious, North and Eight hits the spot.
