One Plus Piece

Located in leafy Balwyn, One Plus Piece is a Japanese anime themed cafe. Possessing a familial charm, the café boasts a contemporary fit out and warm service. Apart from serving excellent coffee, the beverage list is on trend and also serves matcha lattes and healthy smoothies.

We were excited to re-visit One Plus Piece and try their brand new menu which features both delicious and interesting brunch options. As always, One Plus Piece’s famous burgers impressed. From the newer side of things, we also loved the salmon poke bowl – think beautifully fresh slices of salmon sashimi accompanied by Pickled radish and ginger, avocado, edamame, seaweed, bean curd with chilli mayo.
Another show stopper was the Duck Benedict with house-made waffle, topped with melt in your mouth slow cooked free range duck, poached eggs, spicy hollandaise sauce, apple and bacon crumble. Just yum!

For health fiends, the smoothies are great but if you’re in the mood to spoil yourself, do not go past the Black Rock freakshake which is a Nutella and chocolate concoction garnished with homemade toasted Nutella marshmallow. It’s as good as It looks.

One Plus Piece has succeeded in crafting a convivial atmosphere in which to enjoy a lazy brunch. The menu is delicious and caters for all kinds of appetites while the staff are friendly and affable.
