Oye Bombay
/
Altona Indian restaurant, Oye Bombay serves up an enticing mix of flavours and spices to transport diners to the streets and homes of India.
Oye Bombay is an Indian haven with a Melbourne twist. We loved tasting our way through the menu which features street foods, which are light and perfect for sharing as well as hearty classic Indian dishes that we have all come to know and love.
Our top picks off the menu's starter section include the Tandoori chicken which features marinated and charred spiced chicken. The boneless pieces of chicken were wonderfully tender having been roasted to perfection in the Tandoor. The Lamb seekh kabab is similarly enjoyable and made from minced lamb mixed with aromatic spices.
For mains, we adored the curries we had. The Lamb korma was a beautifully mild and creamy curry. It was a crowd favourite which had us fighting for the last morsel. The Chicken tikka masala on the other hand was exceedingly tender and drenched in a heavier, fuller flavour curry, courtesy of being cooked in a myriad of delectable spices while the Palak paneer was a vegetarian curry which was yet another enjoyable dish. The flavours were punchy and were a great pair with the fluffy naan and beady basmati rice.
The dessert menu features a selection of popular Indian treats. Our top pick is the decadent gulab jamun which presents a wonderful explosion of sweetness and boasts beautiful rose scented aromas.
Oye Bombay presents a vivid illustration of Indian cuisine and is certainly worth a visit!
