Parkstone Cafe
/Parkstone Café is the new kid on the Pascoe Vale South block. A venture by Paul Vernuccio whose resume includes being part owner of Augustus Gloop, former owner of Cheeky Monkey (Richmond), Rubber Duck Cafe (Clifton Hill) and George Jones Eatery (Pascoe Vale)), it is no wonder that this cosy eatery operates like a well-oiled machine.
The menu is interesting and delicious with plenty of options even for the fussiest eaters. For health fiends the pop eye salad is a whole lot of yum. A stunning amalgamation of kale, heirloom tomatoes, charred corn, goji berries, wild rice, quinoa, jalapenos, blacked eye bean, coriander and salted ricotta. If you’re hungry make sure you add the poached chicken (it’s beautifully tender).
For something a little interesting that just so happens to be vegan, we recommend the BBQ jackfruit tacos. Think fluffy corn tortillas topped with melt in your mouth morsels of pulled jackfruit (which mimics the texture of pulled barbecued meat), refreshing coleslaw, charred corn, guacamole, coriander and a tangy burnt tomato salsa. Just yum!
