Pembroke Bar and Kitchen offers patrons a perfect destination to catch up with family and friends for a meal, impress a client over a business lunch or simply sneak in an after work glass of wine.

Located in leafy Surrey Hills, Pembroke Bar and Kitchen exudes a calming presence, enveloping a cosy and modern space with an inviting menu, contemporary and warm interior and delightfully welcoming and warm service.

The kitchen is in good hands with Head Chef Christos Milionlis (formerly Tipo 00) at the helm. His masterful menu is created by combining modern Australian cooking with traditional Italian and Mediterranean flavours that tantalise the senses.

To start the mushroom croquettes were beautifully made with a moreish crunchy exterior. The vegetarian dish of beetroot, green beans, goat milk and pistachio was similarly delightful.

To follow (one of our favourite dishes from the evening), the octopus was an absolute highlight of our meal. The octopus was incredibly tender while retaining a robust structure courtesy of being expertly cooked. The accompanying harissa and skordalia delivered a luxurious salinity which enhanced the flavours of the octopus.

For mains the gnocchi was incredibly addictive - A faultless dish of light, fluffy gnocchi served with burnt carrot puree and pepato. It was comfort food at its best – like a hug form nonna. The savoury dishes concluded with a hearty Black Angus rump cap steak. Displaying a mastery in the manner the steak was cooked, the inch thick cut of beef was cooked perfectly from end to end. A light searing ensured that it was lined with a thin crisp layer packed with caramelised beef flavour.

Dessert time continued to please at Pembroke. A lemon semifreddo served with blackberries and almond crumb drew our evening to a close on a sweet note.
