Overlooking the picturesque water and city lights, Pilgrim is the quintessential waterfront venue offering innovative cuisine in a relaxed environment.
Located in Federation Wharf, right on the waters edge, the venue boasts sun-drenched dining areas during the day and romantic and beautiful views at night.
The menu features modern Mediterranean cuisine with a variety of share plate options standing alongside a thoughtfully selected wine list. We opted to leave our dining experience in the capable hands of the kitchen by indulging in the "Feed me" menu.
The fior de latte mozzarella and hazelnut dukkah served with warm focaccia made for a scrumptious start. We enjoyed the luxurious mozzarella and flavoursome dukkah.
The roasted sardines, brioche crumbs, cucumber and capsicum finished with semolina sauce was similarly a delight, boasting a wonderful depth of flavour.
Our favourite dish of the night was the slow roasted pork belly. A plate that evoked excitement upon arrival, each slice of glistening pork belly consisted of perfectly delicate layers of pork fat which exploded with intense porky goodness with each bite. The smoked potato puree was a delicious accompaniment with the pickled mushrooms providing some acidity to cut through the richness of the pork while the tarragon gremolata added salinity and freshness.
Another must-try is the dish of baked mussels which is deliciously seasoned with crispy prosciutto and pea sauce before being adorned with tomato vinaigrette. Yum!
To finish, the warm red grape, almond and olive oil cake served with yogurt sorbet hits the spot. Studded with juicy red grapes with an underlying aroma of vanilla and citrus, this was a simple and very lovely Italian-style cake.
Pilgrim is the perfect spot to unwind with a cocktail, a glass of wine from their boutique range of Australian wines over good food and stunning views.
