CH9 Postcards goes prime time | Media dinner launch at Maha
/Nine’s travel series Postcards has moved to a new Friday night time-slot and one hour format for Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne markets.
Rebecca Judd hosts alongside presenters Livinia Nixon, Lauren Phillips, Brodie Harper, Shane Crawford, Glen Moriarty, Scherri-Lee Biggs, Warren Tredrea and celebrity chef Shane Delia.
The new move transitions the series from a state-based edition to encompass Victoria, South Australian and Western Australian content.
Gastrology recently attended the media dinner launch with the Channel 9 crew at Maha Restaurant.
Maha served up a delectable selection of Mediterranean inspired Middle Eastern cuisine that boasted bold flavour combinations while retaining authentic characteristics.
Having dined at the restaurant a couple of years ago and really enjoying the experience, we were excited to indulge in the dinner and were not disappointed.
A wonderful addition to the Postcards crew, owner and chef, Shane Delia’s background in classical French cuisine was apparent in the dishes served on the evening. The dish of butter saffron poached chicken, smoked Turkish pepper, almond, chicken skin and BBQ corn was a show stopper. Morsels of butter-tender chicken had deep and complex flavours from the use of spices. It was a beautiful.
The famous Maha lamb (12 hour roasted lamb shoulder, garlic, cumin, coriander, smashed radish, almond, mint) made an appearance for mains - as always, beautifully tender and full of flavour.
The dinner ended on a sweet note with Turkish delight filled doughnuts that were adorned with rosewater and honey.
It was a wonderful evening of celebrations and we cannot wait to get stuck into the new series!
