Saké Jr debuts at St Collins Lane
/Building on the success of its signature build-your-own bowls, Saké Jr debuts a range of delicious new dishes and grab & go items by Rockpool Dining Group Head of Culinary Neil Perry AM, in collaboration with Saké Jr chefs, at The Aviary dining precinct at St Collins Lane shopping centre.
Drawing inspiration from a recent trip to Japan, Neil has worked with Saké Jr chefs to add exciting new lunch-time creations, including grab & go sashimi salads, noodle salads and poke. A new dinner menu features Japanese Fried Chicken, or JFC, with a choice of three dressings; a selection of bao buns; and abura, or oil noodles, featuring a choice of pork, chicken or tofu with either ramen or udon noodles and topped with pickled bamboo, spring onions, nori wakame, soft cooked egg and shirazu.
The new dinner items pair well with Urban Craft Brewing Co’s Japanese-style craft beers, which are served on tap at the St Collins Lane venue, helping late afternoon and evening shoppers and the after-work crowd to kick back with a leisurely bite to eat and craft brew. House wines and saké by the glass are also available.
We absolutely adored the Abura - a cult dish in Tokyo at the moment, this is a soupless, oil noodle dish, perfect for summer and really delicious.
The new dishes complement Saké Jr’s build-your-own bowls of vibrant Japanese flavours. Customers build their bowl by selecting a base of rice, noodles, or mixed green leaves and shredded cabbage, topping it with their choice of meat or tofu, and then adding steamed, roasted or grilled vegetables, sauces, pickles, toppings and condiments – creating a truly customised nourishing bowl.
