Shiki Japanese Restaurant

Shiki offers a laid back environment for catching up with friends and family with a focus on delicious Japanese food designed to share in comfortable surroundings.

To start there is a smorgasbord of Japanese small eats comprising of tempura, gyoza, sushi, sashimi and the like.

To start we indulged in the salmon nigiri which boasted a tenderness exhibited by high quality produce. The prawn tempura that followed was similarly delicious. The tempura batter was ethereally light and crispy. The prawns inside the batter were plump, wonderfully fresh and pleasing.

For mains the wafu steak was perfection - Tender and delicious, with caramel undertones courtesy of being cooked in wafu sauce. The dish was served theatrically on a sizzling hot plate and went exceedingly well with fluffy white rice.

Our dinner ended on a sweet note with daifuku served with green tea ice cream and black sesame ice cream.

Shiki has a band of loyal followers and it is easy to understand why - Japanese food in a welcoming environment and overall pleasant dining experience.
