Gastrology bloggers attended the event courtesy of The Humble Tumbler.
This week, Gastrology joined Clare Burder and Fred Siggins from The Humble Tumbler - adventures in food and drink at Fitzroy's iconic bar, Black Pearl.
These guys are gearing up for another year of ground breaking whisky education events, and we were pleased to be shown what those sessions are all about.
It was an evening of world class whisky, incredible cheese, fascinating stories and great conversation at The Attic, Black Pearl's award winning upstairs cocktail bar. We were introduced to the world of whisky, including the Australian & Japanese producers making their mark; getting acquainted with delicious whisky cocktails and given a taste of the awesome program of whisky events that Clare and Fred were planning for 2015.
The Humble Tumbler whisky courses are the first of its kind in Melbourne: A comprehensive and social approach to whisky, covering tasting, production, history, food pairing and most importantly, how to choose and enjoy the whisky you like.
Their content is 100% original and brand independent - researched, written & hosted by whisky educator & senior Black Pearl bartender Fred Siggins.
The Humble Tumbler has created the whisky program for the new generation of whisky drinkers - free from stereotypes and mythology, but full of the mystery and wonder of this magnificent spirit.
Their three week whisky course runs on three consecutive Wednesdays at Black Pearl and costs $300 per head. All bookings through the website. Find out more here.
