Yarra Lounge is a Yarraville hotspot with the aim of uniting people and cultures via shared experiences. The bar and eatery has recently undergone a facelift and its slick new look makes it perfect for all occasions whether it’s an intimate dinner for two or more people, large groups as well as single people passing by in need of a perfectly made cocktail.
The drinks menu boasts a line-up of inspired cocktails that are sure to please. Take The Boulevardier for instance - a heady and addictive mix of Rye Whiskey, Sweet Vermouth and Campari. Just yum. Of course, there is also an honest beer, wine and spirits list if you prefer your more traditional beverage.
On the food front, everything is perfect for sharing with a focus on flavour combinations that just work. It’s unpretentious food that is simple but simply delicious.
To start, the meatballs, kefalograviera saganaki with figs and the black hummus and Turkish bread were nothing short of delicious.
For something heartier, we recommend the Mediterranean Lamb Cutlets. Think perfectly seasoned and cooked lamb cutlets served with eggplant puree and a slice of lemon. If you love seafood, the dish of garlic and herb prawns with a touch of chili oil and sauvignon blanc is a must have. The prawns were incredibly tender while retaining a robust structure courtesy of being expertly cooked.
Dessert time continued the trend of the evening - delicious. Churros with chocolate sauce concluded our evening on a high - Fluffy and light on the inside with a crispy exterior.
