We loved experiencing Tom Kha Gai in The Big House where we met lovely local foodie, Sally Lynch at the big iron gates of the Old Beechworth Gaol. The event started with a fascinating tour of the Old Beechworth Gaol before heading inside to the kitchen for a lively lesson in the finer points of making a cracking Tom Kha Gai using classic Thai flavours including fresh herbs and lemongrass grown right there in the prison garden.
Sally's passion and knowledge made for a thoroughly enjoyable class. We loved being taken through each step and being able to ask any questions we had on the fly and were pleased to end up with an absolutely delicious home-cooked Tom Kha Gai to enjoy. We loved that the recipe was both moorish as well as easy enough to replicate which means we will certainly be making this again in the not to distant future!
