Whisky, Wine & Fire, presented by BMW [19-22 July 2018]
/Melbourne’s newest festival dedicated to all things malt and grape has just dropped their menu line-up and it’s a whisky-lover’s dream.
Whisky, Wine & Fire, presented by BMW will see attendees smell, swill and sip their way through tastings from 11 labels of single malt, small batch and Scotch and 19 wine labels of red, white and all varietals in between.
The line-up includes boutique distillers Port Melbourne’s Starward, Timboon Railway Shed from Western Victoria and Tasmania’s Belgrove Distillery sampling their wares alongside larger labels such as Talisker, Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.
Wine-buffs can graze their way through Grenaches, Syrahs and Roussanes from some of Victoria and South Australia’s favourite regions with tipples from Scotchman’s Hill, Portsea Estate and St Huberts, among others. Mulled wine and hot cider are also on the menu.
After filling your glasses, stomachs will be next with roasted beasts and flame kissed skewers from the likes of Farmers Daughters, the brainchild of Pastuso’s Alejandro Saravia, Filipino BBQ cult favourite Hoy Pinoy, and low and slow American BBQ outfit Burn City Smokers. Close out your night with a frozen pastry from Christy Tania’s Glacé Frozen.
Guests are welcome to explore the fire garden, with installations and performances that will warm as much as they will delight. Tunes by some of Melbourne’s coolest soul and folk acts will keep the vibe lively and help to guard against the wintry chill.
Car connoisseurs will be treated to an unveiling of the BMW X4 Sports Activity Coupe; the first time it has been debuted in Australia.
Supporting partner Dan Murphy’s are also on board hosting nightly Meet The Maker Masterclasses featuring some of your favourite distillers and winemakers.
They will also run Discovery Masterclasses, an immersive experience designed to take you on a wine and whisky discovery journey beyond pure taste.
Entry to the event includes a tasting glass of wine and a reusable whisky and wine glass (adults only). Additional tastings, glasses and of course bottles, can be purchased throughout the evening. On Thursday night only, free hot chocolates will be offered to all attendees to celebrate the launch of the event.
