Woodstock Pizzecheria

Woodstock Pizzecheria have been delivering delicious pizzas alongside rustic Italian dishes for over 35 years.

The Cannata’s are the family behind Woodstock Pizzicheria, boasting three generations of Roman Style Pizza masters.

We loved tasting our way through the delicious menu. To start, we loved the Polpette della Nonna, a traditional comfort-food classics, these juicy meatballs were hearty and tasted delicious in a rich napoli sauce.

To follow, the dish of gorgonzola gnocchi was exceptional. Made fresh everyday by nonna since 1994. Pillow soft homemade gnocchi was wonderfully light and went beautifully with the rich cheese sauce. We loved meeting nonna who made sure we were incredibly well fed!

For mains, we couldn’t resist enjoying a couple of their famous pizzas. The appeal of Woodstock Pizzecheria’s pizzas lie in their beautiful crusts and the use of quality produce. As tomato and cheese are staple ingredients in almost every pizza on the menu, it is crucial that they get it right. And fortunately, they do. There is a pleasant freshness underlying the tomato base and the fior di latte.

The San Daniele Pomodoro was a pizza containing mozzarella, prosciutto, rocket shaved parmesan, bocconcini mozzarella, cherry tomatoes. It was a wonderful amalgamation of classic flavours that simply worked.

The Porcini Pizza was similarly delightful - picture perfect in appearance and outstanding in taste. Layers of mozzarella, porcini, shaved parmesan and truffle oil created a delightful fusion of flavours that would keep any pizza purist happy. Encircled with a puffy crisp crust, this pizza was superb.

A duo of desserts concluded our dinner on a sweet high. The Tiramisu was a stunning dessert. A thoroughly moreish interpretation with all the things you love about a classic tiramisu. The Pannacotta was similarly delicious. Think melt in your mouth vanilla pannacotta topped with berry compote. Just yum!

Woodstock Pizzecheria has truly established themselves as maestros of the Melbourne pizza scene. If you are looking for quality pizzas of the gourmet kind, and authentic Italian food, this eatery should be at the top of your list.
