Huon Salmon Platter
/We love entertaining but sometimes it can be a bit of a pain preparing a home cooked meal so here's a cheat's foodie tip that will have your guests raving!
All you need to do is get a stunning selection of smoked Huon Salmon (we got ours from David Jones, Bourke Street) and pair it with a selection of crackers, dips and crusty bread. The quality of the smoked Huon Salmon is seriously next level (the best we have ever had) so there's not much you need to do. Literally just serve and and start enjoying. All we can say is our guests (and ourselves!) were thoroughly impressed.
Here's a list of the items we got with a bit of a description so you know what to expect.
Hot Smoked Huon Salmon Honey Cured
If you like your salmon delicate yet both rich and sweet, you'll love this. The light smokiness provides a beautiful balance and it is carefully packed as a whole fillet by hand so it looks beautiful when you serve it too.
Banquet Slice Cold Smoked Huon Salmon
We couldn't get over how good this was. Everyone at the table agreed it was the best smoked salmon they had ever had. This baby recently won the 2017 Gold Medal at the Sydney Fine Food awards so the critics agree with us. Huon Salmon is slow smoked for up to 40 hours in kilns fired with whole river red gum logs to ensure it delivers a fresh, succulent and wonderfully flavoursome experience. Just yum!
Whisky Cured Smoked Huon Salmon
Cured with one of the world’s best whiskys, Tasmania’s Lark Distillery, this is simply perfect for salmon and whisky connoisseurs and boasts smoky notes of the barrel in the whisky.
Premium Hot Smoked Huon Salmon
Beautiful Huon Salmon fillets are dry salted and left to cure, then smoked with red-gum logs in kilns using traditional slow smoking methods. The fillets are double-smoked which helps retain the natural oils of the salmon. We loved how tender and beautiful the fillets were.
