Truffle Melbourne Festival at the Queen Victoria Market this weekend

To celebrate the start of the black truffle season, Gastrology recently spent an evening at the Queen Victoria Market Dairy Hall to launch the 4th annual Truffle festival and taste a variety of truffle inspired dishes.

With half a tonne of truffle being produced in Victoria alone, the team from Pickett's Deli created a variety of unique canapes that not only enhanced, but also intensified the flavours. With items like Goat's cheese churros with truffled honey and Rotisserie Chicken with leek and truffle on offer, the canapes highlighte the use of truffle but was also complemented by Red hill Estate wines and Bass & Flinders Distillery Truffle cocktails.

With over 40 events from June to August, Truffle Melbourne is aiming to demistify truffles, and will be hosting a Truffle festival at the Queen Vicotria Market on Saturday 17th of June and Sunday 19th of June. With cooking demonstrations, truffle tastings and live entertainment, the festival will bring to Melbourne unique produce and tantalising truffles.
