Bar Sur Loup

Bar Sur Loup brings a little touch of France to Melbourne’s thriving café scene.

The café is influenced and named after the beautiful village in the south of France and its surroundings. Expect to find authentic Liege Waffles and some of the best sweet and savoury crepes in town served with artisan ice-cream and other dishes inspired by the region.

Everything is made fresh and in-house with plenty of love and care. As expected of any great Melbourne café, coffee is brilliant and poured by adept baristas.

We loved tasting our way through a variety of crepes which are simply some of the best Melbourne has to offer. The Salmon de L’Australie was our favourite crepe. A cheekily named crepe which is decadently served with smoked salmon, baby spinach and finished with an egg encasing dripping yolk as well as a side of rich hollandaise. It was simply a thing of beauty.

For something more traditional, the asparagus crepe is wonderful. We loved the layers of ham, brie and freshly blanced asparagus.

For something Italian inspired, the La Biquette is sheer deliciousness and topped with prosciutto, chevre, walnuts, roquette and adorned with lashings of honey.

If you have a sweet tooth, do not go past one of their delicious Belgian liege waffles. We tried the La Bar Sur Loup and were not disappointed. Think fluffy waggles topped with melted Belgian chocolate, banana, strawberries and finished with a generous scoop of ice cream and laced with homemade salted caramel sauce. Just yum!
