Barker's New Zealand’s compotes

We recently discovered Barker's New Zealand’s beautiful compotes which have only recently become available in Australia. Barker’s is a company renowned in New Zealand for their jams, sauces, chutneys, cordials and their new compotes.

What is a compote you might be asking? A compote is fresh fruit boiled with a bit of sugar to create a soft mixture that is suitable for use in many ways. You can bake with compote like fruit, add it to your toast, yoghurt, muesli, oats etc or even use it with your savoury cooking.

We loved how “real” these compotes tasted and how versatile and easy it was to use! Our favourite way to use them is in the morning with breakfast. It’s seriously an amazing addition to muesli and yoghurts. Just yum!!
