Brunelli

Brunelli’s diverse menu of regional Italian cuisine with rotating specials means there is always something to tempt regulars and to entice first timers.

Brunelli is particularly good at producing quality pasta dishes. The Lasagna that we had was no exception. Layers of al dente pasta were filled with cheese and hearty bolognese. 

The gnocchi is another must-have dish. These hand-made pillows of love go perfectly with the rich veal ragu.

For mains, the Filleto di pollo was stunning. Think wonderfully tender grilled chicken breast topped with sautéed grilled prawns laced in a decadent cream, mustard and brandy sauce. 

The Vitello de funghi was similarly delicious. A hearty main of generous proportion featuring perfectly cooked veal and a rich and earthy mushroom sauce.

Our evening ended on a sweet high with a duo of desserts.  The sticky date pudding and apple strudel. The sticky date pudding was wonderfully rich and satisfying. The tiramisu was similarly well made, with its flavour heavily dominated by the constituent alcoholic component.  Both were simple traditional desserts that were well executed and thoroughly enjoyable.
