Dans le Noir ?
/Following its global success with more than 1.5 million visitors from Paris to Auckland, through London, Madrid, Barcelona and St Petersburg Dans le Noir ? (French translation for “In the Dark?”) has oppened its first official ‘Dining in the Dark’ restaurant concept in Australia at The Como Melbourne, MGallery by Sofitel.
In a unique role reversal, all Dans le Noir ? staff members hired to guide guests through the experience are themselves visually impaired. It’s under their guidance that patrons will become acclimatised to their environment and learn to listen to
their secondary sensors.
We loved being a part of the first dinner experience and were blown away by theis sensory experience that is designed to provoke a thoughtful response.
This one-of-a-kind experience invites guests to embark on a unique sensory, social and human experience. Each diner will be guided through their mystery three course menu, designed by The Como Melbourne Executive Chef, Dinesh Munirathinam, in pitch darkness. Through limiting the sense of sight there are no preconceptions brought about by vision; instead other senses are intensified allowing guests to completely re-evaluate their perception of taste and smell.
The Dans le Noir ? dining experience will be available for dinner Thursday to Sunday.
Guests can choose between the following three surprise menu options; Chef Munirathinam’s signature Feed Me Menu, Fishermans Cove Seafood Menu or Seasoned Vegan Menu (additional dietary requirements can be accommodated with notice) from $95 per person, or $125 with wine pairing.
