We loved tasting our way through the menu. The jerk chicken was a true highlight - delectably covered in a delicious array of herbs and spices and juicy. The rice and peas were the perfect canvas for the jerk chicken and boasted a beautiful flavour courtesy of having been steamed in master stock with red beans, coconut, thyme and pimento berries.
The jerk chicken wings were similarly delightful. Sticky, moreish and just yum!
For something a little interesting, the Jamaican HSP had us fighting over the last morsel. The vegan version, made with pulled jackfruit was simply addictive with crispy fries slathered in jerk BBQ sauce, hot sauce and garlic aioli.
Calypso the Dog is injecting a touch of Caribbean culture into Melbourne. This loveable eatery delights foodies and families alike with their contemporary take on traditional Jamaican street food.
