Chef David Kew
/Chef David Kew is a more premium dining experience than its CBD sibling, serving both traditional and Asian fusion dishes. In true David's fashion, Chef David Kew at first appears more like a modern art museum than an elevated all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant and sushi train.
Chef David Kew's foyer is illuminated with neon typography and curated with neon art. Guests pass through a curtain of chains, where they are discreetly met by staff who escort them through a secret door unlocking a new world of fine foods.
There are two ways to enjoy Chef David Kew: the Shabu Shabu menu ($115pp set menu) and the À La Carte menu.
We loved tasting our way through the Shabu Shabu menu where we were seated at the sushi train and treated to our very own hot pot. The Shabu Shabu menu began with a tasting menu which changes seasonally. Guests choose five items from a decadent and premium menu of eight. Think M9+ blood Wagyu with truffle paste, prawn with squid in freshly baked lobster bisque, lobster sashimi, M9+ Wagyu nigiri and assorted tempura.
Then on to the Shabu Shabu – simply order a broth and choose any ingredients from the train - it's unlimited!
There are 40 different ingredient options in the Chef David Kew hotpot including abalone, scallop, black- truffle prawn balls and wagyu strips. Each ingredient is sign-posted with hot pot cooking instructions, so you know how to cook it to perfection. It’s simply a wonderful experience and we cannot wait to return. Highly recommended.
