/Since opening in August 2012, The Meatball & Wine Bar’s CityBalls has delivered over 80 varieties of special meatballs to accompany its steadfast menu of delectable balls and continues to develop delectable new meatball recipes each and every week.
The interior of exposed brick walls, a long copper bar, rustic wine racks and communal seating makes this the perfect environment to enjoy several glasses of vino over hearty fare.
The new menu is delightfully simple and uncomplicated: offering a range of handmade artisan balls (beef, pork, chicken, fish, and vegetable), an option of sauces and bases, plus daily specials. Every meatball delivered from the kitchen is made with Australia’s best quality meats with the origin of the produce made completely clear.
In addition to meatballs, CityBalls serves artisan charcuterie, meatball sliders seasonal salads and sides, and the affectionately named Whoopie Mac ice-cream sandwich.
We absolutely adored the food on offer. Everything tasted wholesome and delicious - a testament to the eatery’s commitment to sourcing the best produce available for the meatballs: from the rare-breed Kurobuta pork of Byron Bay, the organic free range chicken, the pasture-fed Black Angus beef from Gippsland and the market fresh Australia fish for the fish balls.
The wines offered at The Meatball & Wine Bar are robust, approachable and easy to drink, featuring a range of Italian and Australian varietals as well as a focus on Prosseco and Grappa. Bellinis and spritzers all add sparkle to the well-rounded drinks menu including the selection of Australian craft beers.
