Dans les Bois dinner at Rochford Wines
/Gastrology indulged in a special one night only Dans les Bois – ‘In the Woods’ dinner on Saturday. The team of chefs at Rochford Wines had worked closely with Rochford’s winemakers to select the perfect wine companion for each dish on the menu – creating an unforgettable dining experience.
The evening saw eight exceptional wines paired with eight delicious dishes of French country fare and entertainment by an acclaimed French accordion accompanied with informative insights by Rochford’s Chief Winemaker, Marc Lunt and Head Chef, Raki Andriana. An absolute highlight was the opportunity to taste Rochford’s award winning 2015 Dans les Bois Pinot Noir as well as the exceptional 2015 ‘Premier’ Pinot Noir (recently given 98 points by James Halliday).
The team of chefs at Rochford Wines have developed and honed their love for fresh local produce and cooking real food. Using only the freshest and local ingredients - the hearty menu was an absolute delight.
It was a great opportunity to discover what lies behind the scenes at a leading Yarra Valley Winery.
