Foodora Good Food Tour
/Gastrology recently had the pleasure of attending Foodora's Melbourne Good Food Tour and a Night with Tokyo Tina Dinner.
These events highlighted the great food offerings available through Foodora's food delivery service.
On the Good Food Tour, we were treated to a delightful handmade Pappardelle with broccoli, chilli and garlic at Thirty Eight Chairs.
The pasta was a delightful way to start the culinary Italian adventure as the dish highlighted that simple pasta dishes are enjoyable and tasty.
The next stop on the tour was 48H Pizza & Gnocchi Bar where some of the best Italian produce is used. We sampled the charcoal gnocchi served with a rich tomato sauce and topped with Parmigiano. We also tasted some lovely slices of tomato, buffalo mozzeralla and basil pizza and a wonderful cured tuna & strawberry pizza which had some amazing flavours.
The final stop of this Italian adventure was A25. We devoured a selection of authentic and innovative pizzas which included:
- a new matcha based pizza with chicken and rocket;
- the Bunga Bunga which had tomato, mozzarella, Italian sausage, porcini mushrooms, parsley and parmesan;
- the Squid ink based pizza with tiger prawns, calamari, cherry tomatoes and percorino;
- the LSD which consisted of licorice dust, radicchio, mozzarella and Italian sausage; and
- the Nutella pizza with strawberries and vanilla bean icecream (which was one of our personal favourites).
At the Night with Tokyo dinner event hosted by Foodora, we sampled their ramen noodle dish which can be delivered straight to your front door! Tokyo Tina has developed innovative ways to get the ramen delivered so that the dish remains as authentic and delicious as possible.
The DIY ramen that we tasted at Tokyo Tina consisted of mushroom, ramen egg, and roast pork neck in miso broth. The pork neck was nice and tender which was the standout element of the dish. The other ramen we tasted was a spicy broth with chicken and mustard leaf which was generous and full of flavour.
