GO Noodle House
/Malaysia’s noodle specialists, GO Noodle House, have settled right into their first Australian flagship store on Little Bourke Street, with lines of loyal followers visiting every day.
GO Noodle House has over 30 outlets throughout South East Asia, and is a powerhouse on the noodle scene, famous for their clear seafood bisque ‘Superior Soup’ and dry-based Mi Xian noodles, which is a dish that was passed down through generations into the hands of the GO Noodle team, and hails from the Qing Dynasty of the 17th century.
We loved tasting our way through the menu. To start we recommend sharing a selection of their snacks. Our top picks include the housemade fish, cuttlefish and chicken balls, their unctuous Taiwanese sausages, gold coin pork (also known as bak-kwa for those in the know) and the seriously authentic fried fish dumpling crackers (keropok lekor).
On the noodles front, it’s very much a choose your own ending scenario. Choose your dish, then choose your base (Superior Soup or Hot and Sour Soup), choose the noodle of your choice, choose any add ons and finally think about adding a shot of Hua Diao wine (highly recommended).
An absolute must-have at GO Noodle House is the pan mee. This is the stuff of dreams. Think freshly made noodles served with a delectable range of condiments in either soup form or tossed in a spicy dark sauce. It’s all good.
To finish, try their Dates Wolfberry tea – beautifully sweet and calming and just so happens to go really well with their coconut milk and coffee jelly dessert.
