Tucked away in true Melbourne-style with its entrance located at 450 Flinders Lane, Greta is a hidden gem for those who are lucky enough to discover it.

The third venue from brother and sister duo Adam and Elisa Mariani (who bought us Mayday Coffee and Food in Richmond and recently opened Maverick, in the CBD), Greta is their vision of a European-Melbourne venue which is inspired by their travels and desire for accessible, quality food. Expect a precise menu of quality sandwiches, made to order as well as

breakfast, pasta, and aperitivo dishes. Our top picks from the menu include the house made porchetta sandwich with Greta’s green sauce and seasonal leaves as well as the stracciatella sandwich with cavolo nero, zucchini, salsa verde and chilli oil.


The wine list has been curated by Henry Crawford, co-owner of Bar Romantica. Think classic cocktails and aperitivo as well a succinct but great wine list.
