Joseph’s Restaurant & Bar
/Joseph’s Restaurant & Bar is the onsite restaurant at Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park. Overlooking the spectacular gardens found at the property, Joseph’s is led by award-winning Executive Chef David Green, and showcases fresh, seasonal produce and the finest of Australian and international wines.
Named in honour of the Catholic Seminary that once stood in its place and overlooking the spectacular partette garden in the shadow of the historic mansion, Joseph’s has a wonderfully tranquil backdrop – perfect for unforgettable moments.
The menu at Joseph’s is fresh and novel, with an option for either a 4 course of 6 course option. We opted for the 6 course degustation with matching wines and were not disappointed.
Highlights included the dish of Wild Rainbow Trout - Exceedingly fresh trout had been roasted over pepper berry tree leaves and was served with smoked trout roe and fluffy crumpets. It was a sophisticated dish which allowed the natural sweetness of the trout to shine through.
The dish of Port Phillip Bay Snapper was equally delicious. The dish arrived looking as pretty as a picture and tasted even better than it looked. We loved the stunning combination of flavours and textures. The fish was adorned with a thin layer of scallop film and adorned with pickled and seasoned mushrooms and coastal greens. The umami-laden summer corn dashi was the perfect accompaniment.
Dessert time continued to showcase the kitchen’s versatility. A vibrant plate of summer peaches delighted. We loved the different varietals of peaches prepared using various techniques and served with an exploding yuzu sphere and peach meringue. It was simply beautiful.
Without exception, staff at Joseph’s were professional, friendly and always worked hard to ensure our visit was as enjoyable as possible. From the excellent food, fine wines and stunning backdrop, we simply cannot wait to return.
