A new project by the people who brought you The Family Love Tree, Kookaburras Kanteen is an exciting addition to Prahran’s bustling café scene.
As expected for any good Melbourne café, coffee is excellent and poured by adept baristas. The food menu is succinct but covers all bases so there is something to suit everyone.
We loved the Moroccan Quinoa Salad, a nutrient dense amalgamation of spiced quinoa, chickpeas, beetroot hummus, sweet potatoes and rocket. This dish is perfect for health fiends and doesn’t compromise on flavour.
For something heartier we recommend the dish of Wild Mushrooms. Think crusty pumpkin bread topped with an array of sautéed Wild Mushrooms, Kale, Vegan Pesto, Shaved Walnuts and Pumpkin topped with Poached Egg encasing dripping yolk and finished with aromatic Black Truffle Oil. Just yum!
