Laurent

Laurent is a wonderfully traditional artisan bakery that offers patrons the opportunity to savour French artisan baking, without having to travel.

Century old techniques are used to create a variety of French breads, pastries and cakes. There is plenty to enjoy in the café or to take home for a delicious feast.

We loved visiting their Doncaster outlet. We started with a few savoury items to share. The Avocado Tartine was a true highlight – we loved the crusty multigrain toast topped with fresh avocado slices, house made avocado mousse, finished with Meredith, feta, coriander and pepper. The roasted vegetable and feta tart was similarly delicious, boasting a beautiful crumbly pastry.

We also sampled a delicious variety of their sweet treats. Our top pick was the Mietta – think fluffy chocolate sponge base with luxurious Baileys cremeux, hazelnut praline, mocha mousse, vanilla and chocolate glaze and chocolate macarons and finished with gold leaf. Simply beautiful!
