/Maha takes diners on a Middle Eastern culinary journey. From the moment you step inside, the beauty and opulence of the Middle East is celebrated - From the chic décor to the playful and full flavoured Middle Eastern cuisine.
Under the guidance of Chef Shane Delia, Maha present diners with an abundance of Middle Eastern cuisine that exudes passion, innovation and humility. Meanwhile, Maha’s affable staff patrol the bustling dining room masterfully to create a warm and convivial atmosphere. Maha is known for its generosity in spirit - evident from its generous menu.
Maha Restaurant has just launched a new lunch menu and this generosity of spirit continues to be evident. We loved eating our way through the 4 course lunch option consisting of 12 dishes.
To start Maha’s famous eggplant buns man appearance. As expected, this was a crowd favourite – fluffy buns stuffed with moreish eggplant and Persian XO. Just yum! The dish of Chemen cured kingfish was similarly delicious. Exceedingly fresh slices of kingfish were adorned with urfa biber (a dried Turkish chili pepper), turmeric and aromatic shallot oil.
Our second course continued to please. An absolute highlight was the dish of pearl couscous, harissa, calamari, scallops and zucchini. Fresh with balanced flavours and absolutely delicious.
The savoury courses concluded with hearty beef shish kebab with a number of accompaniments including grilled corn pita, aged rice and charred baby corn.
Dessert time showcased the restaurant’s versatility. A duo of desserts graced our presence. We loved the elegant and moreish olive oil and spice syrup soaked semolina cake with pear and saffron jam and tahini ice cream. The Turkish Delight doughnuts were delightful golden puffs. Ethereal in texture, the doughnuts were coated in rosewater honey and roasted walnuts and tasted delicious.
Maha serves up a delectable selection of Mediterranean inspired Middle Eastern cuisine that boasts bold flavour combinations while retaining authentic characteristics. Lunch at Maha (which includes à la carte as well as 2, 4 and 6 course options) is perfect to be enjoyed during a quick lunch break or spread out over the course of an afternoon for a truly indulgent experience.
