MOMO Dumpling Plus Tea

Sister Restaurant to the much-loved Cosy and Tasty Dumpling Restaurant in Frankston, MOMO Dumpling Plus Tea is keen to take over its sibling's spotlight with exquisite Chinese cuisine. 

Upon entering MOMO Dumpling, diners will be pleased by the restaurant’s industrial chic ambience. Designed to capture a contemporary and communal feel, the expansive dining room is adorned with wooden and metal splashes and different textures for a stunning contrast. 

In line with its social setting, the menu is designed for sharing - ranging from various small plates, dishes from the wok, dumplings and noodles. There is something to suit everyone.

To start, we loved the dumplings. The fish dumplings made with barramundi were absolutely stunning - fresh, light and flavoursome. The green bean and chicken mince dumplings were another must-have, boasting a wonderful crispness on the bottom from the grill.

For something a little left of centre, the wonton tofu bowl was a stunner. Think slippery handmade wonton encasing a juicy mix of pork and cabbage work wonders with the melt in your mouth morsels of steamed silken tofu and the accompanying sea of umami laden soy sesame sauce.

From the wok, the Kongpo chicken was a crowd pleaser. The tender chicken pieces were cooked with ample dried chilli, green and red capsicum, cucumber cubes and peanuts. This was a very flavoursome, slightly spicy dish which paired beautifully with rice.

Dessert time at MOMO continues to excite. A lovely take on the traditional, the desserts at MOMO's are very well executed and delicious. The Sticky Brown Rice Pudding was our top pick. The dessert had the perfect level of sweetness. Any greater and the complexity and depth of the dessert would have been masked; any less and it would have ceased to be a dessert. The proportion of red bean to the sticky rice was expertly judged.

MOMO Dumpling Plus Tea affords a memorable dining experience that comprises delicious food at a very reasonable price point in a relaxing setting. We cannot wait to return.
